- 1839 : Company was founded by Louis and Jean-Charles Payen who specialized in the manufacture of silk threads.
- 1950 :
Company makes a successful reconversion from silk to manufacturing synthetic yarns.
- 1965 :
Pierre Payen develops a revolutionary elastic yarn: Pagastic® which allows the company to expand internationally.
- 1990 :
Company creates ESF, European Stretch Fabrics, a PAYEN Group subsidiary which is dedicated to the development and of commercialization of elastic fabrics.
- 2001 :
Enhancements of PAYEN'S industrial equipment.
- Today :
Still under the direction of the Payen family, the PAYEN Group strengthens its position as an industry leader specializing in elastic solutions.
